Parent Teacher Organization
Monte Vista PTO is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that provides volunteer support for our school and helps provide financial needs that are not covered by the school budget through a variety of fun school events and fundraising efforts.
Our mission is to enhance the education and opportunities of all students at Monte Vista Elementary and we strive to promote a supportive and engaging community atmosphere.

Volunteer sign-ups will go out in early September through Room Helpers, ParentSquare, and the Principal’s newsletter. Please sign up for a shift if you can.
Last year, we had to reduce Book Fair hours because we didn’t have enough volunteers.

Get those books ready! Monte Vista's biggest fundraiser of the year is coming this fall.
For two weeks, our Blue Jays will be challenged to read, read, read while raising money to support the programs, activities, and opportunities the PTO helps provide throughout the year.
There will be prizes, classroom challenges, and plenty of reasons to keep turning those pages!

Every page helps! Funds raised through the Read-a-Thon help support things like Makerspace, field trips, teacher classroom allotments, student activities, and more.
A few more details for our crafty Blue Jay families:
Last year, handmade donations brought in more than $1,800 — nearly 19% of all Winter Shop sales!
The Winter Shop will be here before we know it (December 7-11 to be exact) , so now is a great time to start making!
Donations do not need to be holiday-themed. We welcome handmade gifts that our students would be excited to pick out for parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, and friends.
Last year, families donated everything from knitted hats and scarves, blankets, jewelry and friendship bracelets to resin keychains, wooden coasters, candle holders, tote bags, ornaments, magnets, room scents, and more. We’d love to see what you come up with this year!
All items in the Winter Shop are priced between $1–$10 so students can shop independently and find gifts within their budgets.
Want to craft but don’t want to pay for all the supplies yourself? The PTO can reimburse crafting-material costs. For purchases over $100, please get approval from PTO Treasurer Nichole Landers in advance by emailing her at mvebluejayspto@gmail.com.
