Book Fair
September 29 - October 3
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: Monday, 9/29 to Friday, 10/3
Location: Little Gym at Monte Vista School
Schedule: 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday* and 5 - 7 pm Tuesday and Thursday*
*Contingent on volunteers' availability. The Book Fair is subject to close if no one signs up to volunteer.

While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash (if preferred). Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair.

PS: Need one more reason to visit the Book Fair? Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school!
Also, there are teacher wish lists on the white board inside the Little Gym. If you don’t see your teachers list, ask them what book they could use for their classroom. If you do buy a book from your teachers list, cross it off and make sure you pass it to them. You’ll make their day! Not many gifts better than a book.

We also have a new option this year: Teacher eWallet. Families can contribute funds directly to a teacher’s eWallet so the teacher can purchase books for their classroom themselves. This is a great option if you don’t have time to shop for a book during the fair. Please ask your teacher if they have an eWallet set up for them.

Please sign up below to volunteer at our Book Fair! If we don’t have volunteers for the available time slots, the Book Fair will have to be closed during those times. Any hours you can contribute are greatly appreciated!
If you are volunteering or planning to volunteer, THANK YOU! Please make sure you have your volunteer paperwork turned into the front office. Turn around time is roughly 48 hours. If you are nervous about taking payments and checking out customers, Scholastic has made it pretty simple. Please watch the video below and let us know if you have any additional questions. We want to make volunteering as easy as possible. ​
